Spotted: Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

A while ago I posted on Facebook that Wishtrend, a Korean online store with amazing products and brands, is searching for product testers for the KLAIRS Midnight Blue Calming Cream and I was so lucky when I heard that I was chosen to try it out. For about 2 ½ weeks I’m not using the Midnight Blue Calming cream in my daily routine to tell you what I think of it. In addition to the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream for testing Wishtrend sent 2 SKQIN Dual Sissi Masks wrinkle and moisturizing and 2 SKQIN Dual Sissi Masks wrinkle and brightening to give the skin the needed amount of hydration and care in addition to the spot treatment. Nevertheless my review will be about the cream in this blog post:

What it Claims

The Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream is supposed to calm and strengthen barriers in extremely sensitive skin. It helps to soothe and regulate by heat or sebum irritated or stressed skin. The cream is  used for targeting smaller areas but with a huge spreadability, so that you only need a small amount to cover your skin areas.

Packaging

The packaging is very plain: on the box there is a printed pot of the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream on it, the ingredients (see the whole list below), and the directions for application. In that packaging, the midnight cream comes in a pot (30ml) with a spoon in addition for a more hygienic way of application. Of course you can apply it with your fingers, too if you want.

Usage

Unlike a moisturizing cream, you don’t have to apply the Midnight Blue Calming Cream   on the entire face, but only a small amount on the target areas. The cream creates a protective layer over the surface on the skin. It’s recommended to regenerate the skin, to be applied on irritated areas and prevent makeup from breaking the protective layer.

Effect

First of all: the cream has really a blue color, a kind of pastel blue, which looks beautiful. The consistence is very rich and the cream can easily be distributed. You don’t need much of the cream. The cream has a slightly herbal and fresh scent. A little bit similar to mint. As you know I prefer sweet scents, but the scent isn’t so strong that you smell it the whole day. In the first moment while using it on the skin it feels a little bit like a gel afterwards, but it absorbs after a moment – not immediately, so that the skin seems to be hydrated, fresh and feels cared.

For daily use I  spread a small amount of the cream on my troubled areas to help them calm down. Especially if I have spots with huge irritations I have the feeling that the cream helps to calm the skin down and makes concealer last longer on that spots, similar like a primer in a kind of.

After pore care it helps to make the skin looking healthy and not spread with red points or irritations in such a bad way. Of course it doesn’t help you to vanish ALL redness or irritations, but it helps to calm the skin down and making you feel better.

The usage convincing me is not the “daily use” but I’m obsessed by the night use of that cream: I don’t only put it on irritated areas or troubled skin, but I use it under the eyes for extra hydration and moisture. Also on areas like small wrinkles on the forehead (damn that mascara application causing them :D ) or around the lips. I have the feeling it slightly helps this very small wrinkles to regenerate and look better in the morning.

All in all the cream is a wonderful spot treatment to give back hydration, helping irritated skin areas and helping the skin to recover from small problems. Of course it won’t make all of the skin problems vanish, but definitely it helps to improve the skin quality and making it look better. It’s also supposed to use after heat flashes after sun exposer, but since the weather here in Germany isn’t so hot and in addition I never had problems with the sun, I can’t tell you anything about that fact.
